Man Charged For Firing Gun Aboard Megabus

DES PLAINES, Ill. (AP) — Illinois State Police say charges have been filed against a man who authorities say fired a gun on a Minneapolis-bound Megabus shortly after it left Chicago.

Jacques L. Anderson of Chicago was charged Thursday with armed violence, possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and drug charges. He was ordered held in lieu of $225,000 bond. It wasn’t clear if the 27-year-old Anderson has an attorney who could comment on his charges.

About 50 people were on the bus Tuesday when a gun was fired inside a bus bathroom.
Authorities say passengers tackled the man after he exited the bathroom and held him until the bus stopped and he was arrested.

Passenger Kenneth Smith said the riders acted after the man began harassing the driver.
