LISLE, Ill. (AP) — Benedictine University has chosen the current president of Marymount California University to replace its president.
The private Catholic school based in the Chicago suburb of Lisle announced Michael Brophy will replace William Carroll on Aug. 15. The school also has campuses in Springfield and Mesa, Arizona.
Brophy tells WTAX radio in Springfield that he finds the school’s Catholic mission appealing. Brophy says one of the first things he will do visit Springfield and see what the school’s community needs there. He says he wants to make sure the campus remains viable.
The college announced last fall it would phase out its undergraduate programs in Springfield to focus on nontraditional students. That led to job cuts.
