CHICAGO (AP) — An exhibition of art by late actor Anthony Quinn is opening at the National Hellenic Museum in Chicago.
The exhibit, “Transcending Boundaries: The Art of Anthony Quinn,” opens Friday at the museum in Chicago’s Greektown neighborhood. It features more than 80 of the actor’s paintings and sculptures along with a replica of the studio where he worked.
The museum says Quinn created art into his 80s after he started drawing and sculpting at age 17. Quinn won an apprenticeship under architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Quinn died in 2001 at age 86.
Quinn is famous for his roles in movies like “Zorba the Greek” and “Lawrence of Arabia.”
