Bicyclist Dies in Western Illinois in Suspected Hit-and-Run

QUINCY, Ill. (AP) – Authorities in western Illinois investigating the suspected hit-and-run death of a bicyclist have arrested a 21-year-old Camp Point man.
The (Quincy) Herald-Whig reports 62-year-old Michael L. Pulliam of Quincy died after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle early Saturday. Pulliam was taken to a hospital with major injuries and pronounced dead.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department says deputies located an abandoned, damaged vehicle and later arrested Colton J. Walker on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident involving death.

Prosecutors are reviewing the case. The Illinois State Police are helping with the investigation. No phone listing was found for Walker and he could not be reached for comment at the Adams County Jail where he is in custody.
