Donna L. (Harding) Sergison passed away at 8:05 AM Sunday June 21, 2015 at the Kensington in Galesburg surrounded by her family. She was born December 11, 1926 in London Mills to Samuel White and Bernice White Werry. She married Orlo C. Harding on January 25, 1944 in Galesburg, IL. He preceded her in death September 13, 1981. She later married John Sergison on May 4, 1984 in Peoria, IL. He survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Carol Johnson of Tremont, IL; three stepsons, Mike, Jim and Dan (Christine) Sergison; one granddaughter, Laura (Issac) Larimer; four grandsons, Tony (Christine) Johnson, Terry (Keli) Johnson, Thomas (Samantha) Johnson, Todd (Jennie) Johnson; one step grandson, Milo Sergison; 16 great grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; two brothers, Richard (Arletta) White, Robert White; one nephew and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Steven Michael Harding.
Donna worked at Blue Bell, Alton Box, the London Mills Elevator and the Spoon River Valley Grade School. She loved working at the school especial with the children; she had fond memories of those days. Donna was a lifelong resident of London Mills, IL and loved her home town. She loved singing in all three London Mills churches. She sang for weddings, funerals and performed in many fund raising productions. She and her brothers often sang for London Mills Homecomings. Before she stopped singing she sang in the choir with her daughter which was a special time for them both.
Donna was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thank you to the Kensington and staff for their wonderful help during difficult times.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday June 25, 2015 at the London Mills United Methodist Church where visitation will be Wednesday June 24, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The Reverend Kenneth L. Harris will officiate. Interment will be in East Midway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the London Mills United Methodist Church.
