Former Employee Sets Fire to Chicago Business; 1 Hurt

CHICAGO (AP) — A former employee returned to a food-delivery business where he once worked and set it on fire, badly injuring one of its staff members.

Police say the enraged man in his 40s tossed computers and chairs around before dousing equipment with gasoline and lighting it on fire in Friday’s attack on the Northwest Side.

The Chicago Tribune reports that a 44-year-old woman slipped on the gas and caught fire, suffering second-degree burns to around 25 percent of her body.

Fire Department spokesman Jeff Lyle says she was hospitalized in serious condition.

Police did not have a suspect in custody as of Saturday afternoon.
