Barbara Ann Trulson, 84, of Galesburg, died at 2:37 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Heartland Health Care Center.
She was born March 31, 1931, in Galesburg, the daughter of George and Eleanor Ruth (Moriarty) Tuthill. She married Gale A. Trulson Sr. on September 8, 1951 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death April 29, 1979.
She is survived by five children, Cynthia (and Mike Richards) Anderson of Henderson, Illinois, Gale A. (and Carol) Trulson Jr. of Gilson, Illinois, Colleen Hawkins of San Diego, California, Mark A. Trulson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Christina (and Mark) Hopping of Lakewood, New Mexico; 13 grandchildren, Tomorro Wignall, James Anderson, Emily Kumar, Gabe Trulson, Haylee Trulson, Shelly Petty, Melissa Surber, Joey Smith, Jeremy Smith, Darick Trulson, Amy Darling, Elizabeth Klossing, and Tiara Creek; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Smith on November 8, 1987; five brothers; and three sisters.
Barb was a Mental Health Technician II, working for Galesburg Research Hospital and Zeller Mental Health Center. She retired in 1996 after 26 years of service. She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel with Pastor John Tuthill Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
