Rexroat is being charged with indecent solicitation of a child–a class two felony. If convicted, the junior high school teacher could face three to seven years in prison, and a fine of up to $25,000.
Warren County State’s Attorney Chip Algren told WGIL in April that authorities discovered sexual text messages between Rexroat and the student. Algren said the electronic communication went on for several weeks. Evidence of any sexual acts occurring however, has not been released.
Rexroat waived her right to a preliminary hearing today. Judge James Standard has set a pre-trial conference date for September 23rd at 1:15 p.m. A jury trial will begin October 5th at 9 a.m.
