Grimm tells WGIL that there are still other issues in the state budget discussions that could impact the district, such as pensions and threats to freeze property taxes.
“Even though we have a budget, there are still some significant issues that are being talked about in Springfield that could impact our school district, and school districts around the state,” says Grimm. “Those being the pension cost shift and the discussion that surrounds the possibility of freezing local property taxes. If either one or both of those things happen, it will have a significant impact on District 205.”
The bill includes an increase in education funding, with $244 million extra allotted for K-12 Education and an additional $25 million for early childhood education.
