Victims Whose Bodies Were Found Monday Had Been Shot

DANVILLE, Ill. (AP) — An autopsy has determined that two people whose bodies were found Monday on a lot outside the central Illinois city of Danville had been shot.

The Vermilion County coroner on Wednesday identified the victims as 28-year-old Zarra Strickland and 29-year-old Theodore “Teddy” Hill, both of Danville. Sheriff Pat Hartshorn said the deaths are being investigated as homicides.

The News-Gazette in Champaign reports an Indiana man who is renovating a vacant house on the property discovered the bodies. Authorities said it appeared the bodies had been on the lot for several days before they were discovered.

Hartshorn said that while investigators haven’t turned up any suspects in the shootings, they have a number of people who might have information about the murders. He declined to comment on a motive.
