NEW BADEN, Ill. (AP)–Officials in southern Illinois say they’ve recovered a New Baden man’s body from the Kaskasia River after he went missing on Saturday night.
Clinton County Coroner Phillip Moss says the body of 26-year-old Joshua Toennies was found Monday about a half-mile downriver of where he was last seen. Authorities say Toennies jumped into the river south of Illinois 160/177 at New Memphis Station.
The coroner says he will need to review x-rays done on the body to determine if Toennies drowned or suffered an injury that lead to his death.
