MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say a southern Illinois logger has died after a tree fell on him.
Jefferson County Sheriff Travis Allen says 20-year-old Quentin Levi Douglas Campbell of Bridgeport was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday morning in northwestern Casner Township, west of Mount Vernon.
Allen says Campbell was working with other loggers from a company out of Lawrence County when the incident occurred.
Allen says his office continues to investigate the incident with the Jefferson County Coroner’s office.
