Cutler and The Bears Thin at Receiver as Season Nears

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler finds himself throwing to third- and fourth-team players after a hip injury pushed veteran receiver Eddie Royal to the sidelines for Wednesday’s practice, if not longer.

The Bears are already without receivers Alshon Jeffery (strained calf), Marquess Wilson (hamstring) and Kevin White (shin surgery).

Royal is the fourth Bears wide receiver to go down with an injury in preseason.

Cutler says he’s never seen anything like that happen before.
