EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) – The fiancee of a deputy U.S. marshal killed in a 2011 house raid has been sentenced to 366 days in federal prison for stealing money from a charity golf tournament held in his name.
Pamela Denise Robtoy of Belleville was sentenced Friday in federal court in East St. Louis and also ordered to repay $18,000. She pleaded guilty in May to felony mail and wire fraud.
The golf tournament’s proceeds benefited a survivors’ fund for marshals as well as a group that helps the family of police officers killed in the line of duty.
John Perry was shot and killed by a St. Louis man wanted on drug and police assault charges. The suspect, Carlos Boles, was killed by officers who returned fire.
