Police Search for Man Accused of Attempted Child Abduction

Galesburg Police are on the lookout for a man who attempted to abduct a 12 year old child this afternoon.According to Police Chief David Christensen, officers responded to the intersection of Arthur Avenue and North Street at approximately 1:18p.m.

Officers spoke with three juveniles, including the 12 year old that was approached by the suspect.

The man is reportedly an older white male with short gray/white hair with no glasses or facial hair. Police are on the lookout for the suspect’s red sports car, which was last seen traveling eastbound on West North street before turning south on Henderson Street.

No children were abducted and Police are reviewing the intersection’s video surveillance as part of an ongoing investigation.
