Weaver to be Sworn into 37th Senate Seat Tomorrow

ChuckWeaver-FULLA Peoria City Councilman will officially take on a new role tomorrow.

Chuck Weaver is set to be sworn-in as State Senator in the 37th District, which encompasses parts of Knox County.

According to a press release, Weaver will take the oath of office at the Peoria County Courthouse alongside his wife, children and grandchildren.

The Peoria-area businessman was announced as the replacement for incoming Congressman Darin LaHood on Sunday night.

LaHood won a special election to take the seat vacated by Aaron Schock, who resigned earlier this year amid a spending scandal.

Weaver was selected out of a group of 10 candidates. He is a graduate of Dunlap High School, Bradley University, and DePaul School of Law.

Tomorrow’s ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
