CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) — Illinois says running back Josh Ferguson will miss Saturday’s game against Wisconsin and wide receiver Marchie Murdock will join him on the sideline.
Illinois (4-2, 1-1 Big Ten) said Thursday in its pre-game injury report that Ferguson will again be out with the shoulder injury he suffered against Nebraska. The senior back also missed the Iowa game.
Murdock is out with a thigh bruise.
Freshman Ke’Shawn Vaughn will again start for Ferguson against the Badgers (5-2, 2-1). Vaughn took over when Ferguson left the win over Nebraska and now has 95 carries for 407 yards and three touchdowns.
Murdock is among Illinois’ top receivers. He has 20 catches for 194 yards and three touchdowns.
