CHICAGO (AP) — Rare books collected by a well-known dermatologist who died in 2014 will be auctioned off later this month.
The New York-based Swann Auction Galleries says the auction of Lawrence M. Solomon’s books will take place Nov. 10.
It’ll include works by Raymond Chandler, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, H.G. Wells and Edgar Allan Poe, among others.
A statement from Swann Auction Galleries says Solomon began collecting books at 12. It says he amassed a collection of over 6,000 books during his lifetime.
A Chicago Sun-Times obituary from last year says Solomon died on Oct. 8, 2014, at his North Shore home. He was 83.
