Dr. Lori Sundberg, president of Carl Sandburg College, will be joining other college representatives and students tomorrow at the Illinois State Capitol as they testify on the need for higher education appropriations.
According to a Sandburg news release, the school president will appear before the Illinois House Committee on the Whole to testify on how the “significant decreases in state funding and the current lack of a state budget have affected and continue to affect Sandburg and other Illinois community colleges.”
Others attending include University of Illinois President Timothy Killeen, Chicago State University President Wayne Watson and Western Illinois University President Jack Thomas as well as private university students who have received Monetary Award Program funding.
The testimony is scheduled for 3 p.m. tomorrow in Springfield. A live stream will be available on the state’s website at ilga.gov.
