Oligney-Estill announced as new Parks and Recreation Director

An Indiana native will soon man the wheel as the City of Galesburg’s new Parks and Recreation Director.Anthony “Tony” Oligney-Estill will fill the vacancy, following the retirement of current Parks and Recreation Director Larry Cox next month.

Oligney-Estill comes from Champaign, where he served as Sports Manager for the city’s park district.

Prior to that, he graduated with a Bachelors Degree from North Central College in Naperville, and received his Masters from the University of Illinois.

In a press release, Oligney-Estill says he believes his “unique set of skills and experiences will be a great fit for the position.”

The Indiana native has more than 20 years of experience in the field, and is certified in a number of areas, including as a Parks and Recreation Professional.

Oligney-Estill officially begins December 7th.
