City Council to discuss Capital Improvement Plan again tonight

gcc work sessionThe City of Galesburg’s Capital Improvement Plan should be all but synched up after tonight’s city council work session.

Aldermen will meet to once again discuss the city’s list of various street, sewer and infrastructure projects. A prioritization of those projects has been going on for some time now.

Among projects include $3.45 Million in construction work to the old Armory building, at least five brick overlay construction projects to streets, work to the Farnham street bridge and a number of others.

The projects are being funded through a $10.7 Million bond issue–money which stems from the capital utility tax that was passed city-wide in July.

Tonight’s finalization will come ahead of an expected adoption of the plans next month. Council meets tonight at 5:30 p.m. inside the Erickson Conference Room at City Hall.
