Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball @ Dunlap Eagles

The GHS Silver Streaks girls basketball team beat the Dunlap Eagles this afternoon 60-47. This brings the Streaks up to 8-0 for the season and drops the Eagles down to 4-3 in their season. The Streaks had a shaky start with Dunlap pulling ahead with a 11-0 lead in the the first 3 minutes of the game. The 1st quarter ended with Galesburg down 14-8. This was the first time so far this season that the Streaks were losing at the end of the 1st.

By halftime though Galesburg had finally got the lid off the basket and pulled ahead 25-22 going into the locker room. They grew their lead even more coming back onto the court, pulling ahead to 33-22 by the middle of the 3rd quarter. The Streaks then maintained their lead through the remainder of the game bringing them to the 60-47 victory.

Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game was actually split for today between the Townsell sisters, Kaylah and Kylee. Kaylah had 19 pts, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Kylee had 11 pts and 14 rebounds. In addition to those two we had two other girls break into double figures during the game. Among the top scorer Kaylah Townsell who had 19 pts in the game as mentioned above, Raina Gully came out with 15 pts, Kylee Townsell as stated above as well had 11 pts, and Shayli Florine had 10 pts in the game.
