Galesburg police arrested three Wisconsin residents earlier this week after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a mobile meth cook in stolen vehicle.
According to police reports, officers spotted a speeding silver Mitsubishi Galant with no license plates early Wednesday morning in the area of Farnham and Main streets.
Police pulled the car over into the Main Street Taco Bell parking lot. The Dubuque, Iowa Police Department confirmed the vehicle had been stolen on Tuesday.
The driver was identified as 22-year-old Dylan J. Hocking. His girlfriend, 18-year-old Brenda A. Haupert, and uncle, 44-year-old Jason D. Hocking, were also in the vehicle.
Officers described all three as appearing to be high on some form of narcotic.
A drug-sniffing K-9 alerted to the vehicle and police conducted a search that revealed several items common in meth production as well as an active “one pot” meth lab.
The trio was charged with unlawful production of 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine and possession of meth manufacturing materials. Haupert and Dylan Hocking, who remain in the Knox County jail on $150,000 bond, were charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Jason Hocking, who had a valid Wisconsin warrant for his arrest, is held on $250,000 bond.
