A Knox County judge read charges against three Wisconsin residents today who were arrested last week on charges of meth production and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Public defenders Dave Hansen, Gavin Robinson, and Dan O’Brien are representing 22-year-old Dylan J. Hocking, his 18-year-old girlfriend Brenda A. Haupert and his 44-year-old uncle, Jason D. Hocking, respectively.
All three face counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and production of between 15 and 100 grams of meth, a Class X felony worth up to 30 years in prison.
Galesburg police reports show the trio had been traveling in a vehicle with no license plates on Main Street last Wednesday. Officers confirmed the vehicle was stolen and a search of the car revealed an active “one pot” meth lab.
Haupert and Dylan Hocking remain in the Knox County jail $150,000 bond. Jason Hocking is held on $250,000 bond. Their next court date is set for Jan. 11.
Newly appointed judge Tony Vaupel presided over today’s hearing.
The trio’s arrest brings the year’s total number of meth production charges filed in Knox County to 36. Last year saw eight charges filed.
