The GHS Silver Streaks Girls won their second game in the Martin Luther King Tournament today by beating the Rockford Auburn Lady Knights 59-45. This makes the Streaks 21-1 for the season and undefeated in the Tournament so far. The Lady Knights have fallen to 10-9 in their season play. Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch Time Player of the game this afternoon was Ellen Junk who added 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. A couple other girls to mention, Shayli Florine added on another 19 points as well as 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. Raina Gully also got into double figures with 13 points. She also had 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block. The girls will be off until Monday afternoon when they take on Quincy Notre Dame in the MLK Tournament. Pre-game time for that one is set to go at 1:40pm and tip off is scheduled for 2pm with a play by play from Tom Meredith and Erik Gibson on 93.7FM and 1400AM WGIL, WGIL.com, or TuneIn.
