ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — The 35-year-old woman killed in a west Rockford home invasion and shooting was a church preschool teacher who died while visiting a friend overnight.
Trees Wiley died early Saturday in a shooting that remains under investigation. The Rockford Register-Star reports that the other victim, a 30-year-old woman, is in stable condition.
Best friend Misha Dockins told the newspaper that Wiley lived alone, relied on the city bus system instead of driving and overcame a learning disability to obtain a two-year degree. She was killed while studying for a bachelor’s degree.
No arrests have been made in the shootings.
