Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls Basketball vs. Sterling Golden Warriors

The Galesburg Silver Streaks Girls beat the Sterling Golden Warriors this afternoon 67-33. This win makes the girls 29-2 for the season while the Golden Warriors now fall to 15-15 for their season. The Streaks started out with yet another very strong lead, ending the 1st quarter ahead 26-6. They continued to carry that momentum through the rest of the game, only allowing Sterling to get 6 more points in the 2nd while Galesburg put up 14 more. Moving into the 3rd quarter the Streaks held the Golden Warriors to only 11 more points while they got 15 and then finished still very strong in the 4th with 12 more while Sterling only got 10, reaching the final of 67-33.

Our Dave’s Autobody Crunch Time Player of the game this afternoon was Kaylah Townsell who had 5 points, 5 assists, 5 steals, and a block in the game. Other players worth noting are Raina Gully who put up 12 points, Lexi Daniels who also had 12 points to add, and then Shaylie Florine and Emily Meinert who both had 10 points apiece. The Streaks had a total of 9 3-pointers in the game as well. The Streaks play next on Thursday night against Rock Island. Pre-game for that meet is set for 6:06 with a tip off scheduled for about 6:30.
