Larry Emory Brown, 70, formerly of Galesburg, died at 2:01 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Royal Oaks Nursing Home in Kewanee with his family present.
He was born August 16, 1945 in Galesburg, the son of Emory and Dorothy (Peterson) Brown.
He is survived by several cousins including, Audrey Swanson and Ken (and Cathy) Peterson of Oneida, who where his caretakers; and a good friend, Phil Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Brown.
Larry graduated from Galesburg High School in 1963, where he was the class president. He graduated from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky in 1967. Larry worked as a teacher, in sales at J.C. Penney, and was self-employed. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Galesburg.
Cremation will be accorded. The family will host a memorial service at 10 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at the United Church of Oneida. Rev. David Pyell will officiate. Private family burial will be in Oneida Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
