Dorothy M. Bohlander, 84, formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016 in Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.

She was born January 9, 1932 in Little York, Illinois, the daughter of George W.C. and Minnie E. (Brown) Poulson. She married Paul James “Jim” Bohlander on January 14, 1950 in Monmouth.   He preceded her in death on April 20, 1987.

She is survived by a son, Patrick J. (Linda) Bohlander of Davenport, Iowa; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; seven siblings, David W. (Jean) Poulson, Jewel Winters, and June Friend, Galesburg, Sharon Ginther, Abingdon, Illinois, Rebecca (Lloyd) Haring, West Minster, California, Joy (Eldon) Wetzel, Macomb, Illinois, and Alice Poulson, Cameron, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James R. Bohlander and John W. Bohlander; and seven siblings, Hugh “Phil” Poulson, Sonny Poulson, Anna Thomas, Irene Brown, Minnie Jones, Rose Millard, and Marge Howard.

Dorothy graduated from Galesburg High School in 1949. She was a homemaker. Dorothy was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg and AARP.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William Miller will officiate. Burial will follow the mass in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Monmouth. Memorial contributions in Dorothy’s name may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or Corpus Christi Catholic Church, both in Galesburg, or St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colona, Illinois.
