Janice A. Fordyce, 70 of Abingdon, passed away at 12:09 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg with her family at her side.

She was born November 11, 1945 in Galesburg, the daughter of Dean and Fern Reed Saline.  She married Jerry Fordyce on August 3, 1968 at the Maxey Chapel.

Jan is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jerry; two daughters, Dawn (Randy)  Cooper of Abingdon and Jill (Brad) Crisco of Elmwood; five grandchildren, Ben Crisco, Emmie Crisco, Rylee Cooper, Allie Crisco and Mason Cooper; her siblings, Jerry Saline of Knoxville, Harold (Terrie) Saline of Galesburg, and Barb (Bill) Heimer of Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She grew up on the family farm near Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1963.  She lived in Abingdon all her married life.  She was a member of the Abingdon United Methodist Church and was a trustee on the church board.  She also volunteered at the John Mosser Public Library in Abingdon as a “Friend of the Library”.  She was a member of the Tip Top Club.  She enjoyed sewing, reading, taking her daily walks and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.  Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.
