Judge refuses to stop anti-abortion fliers targeting CEO

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (AP) — A judge has ruled an anti-abortion group can continue distributing fliers in suburban Chicago targeting a corporate CEO.

Lake County Associate Judge Margaret Marcouiller ruled Monday that the Ohio-based group Created Equal can keep distributing fliers that show pictures of an aborted fetus and a Lake Forest resident, and also include the executive’s home address.

The fliers have been left with neighbors of Charles Alutto, who heads Stericycle, a medical waste company.

Created Equal says Stericycle “enables baby killing” by transporting medical waste from a Planned Parenthood facility in Ohio

Marcouiller said Monday that “even insulting and outrageous speech must be tolerated.”

In a prepared statement issued Monday, Stericycle said it “is being improperly targeted by this campaign.”

Created Equal Executive Director Mark Harrington said the campaign will continue.
