CHICAGO (AP) — Police say a 1-year-old girl was in stable condition after she was shot in the head while in the backseat of a vehicle on Chicago’s West Side.
Chicago police spokesman Officer Hector Alfaro says the girl was shot around 4:45 p.m. Friday. He says the girl was in the backseat of a vehicle when someone in a silver vehicle fired multiple shots, with one round striking the trunk of the vehicle she was in, traveling through and hitting her.
Alfaro says the girl was taken to a hospital before being transferred to another.
Alfaro says no one was in custody.
