ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — Northern Illinois police are investigating the deaths of a man and his son after their bodies were found inside a car parked in rural Winnebago County.
The bodies of the adult male and male child were found about 8:20 a.m. Monday in a car behind a rural home.
County sheriff’s spokesman Ken DeCoster tells the Rockford Register Star detectives were called to investigate the incident as a homicide.
The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office identified the two bodies as father and son in a news release, but authorities are withholding their names pending notification of relatives.
The manner of their deaths has not been released.
