The annual Model Train and Railroadiana Show is moving from its old home in Carl Sandburg College to the Galesburg High School Fieldhouse for Railroad Days 2016.
Train show chairman Larry Anglund says the move puts everything in one spot, allowing for easy access rather than navigating “a maze.”
Anglund tells Galesburg’s Morning News on WGIL this year’s train and toy show will be one of the biggest.
“We’re going to have 355 selling tables, we’re going to have eight layouts,” he says. “It’s going to be the all-time high for layouts. We’ve got them coming from all over. Even the Illini from the University of Illinois has a layout; they’re going to bring their eight by ten.”
Barry Wainer is in charge of the toy show. He says vendors new and old will be in attendance.
“We will have the Spoon River Antique Tractor Club,” Wainer says. “They’ll be out there with their tractors and then I’ve got a gentleman with a miniature train that the kids can ride.”
Toys include everything from Hot Wheels cars to Barbie dolls.
The model train and toy show will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 25 and 26 in the Galeburg High School Fieldhouse
