Police arrested a pair of Galesburg teens yesterday on drug and gun charges.
According to police reports, 19-year-olds Malik L. Morris and Kendrick D. Talbert were arrested yesterday in the Galesburg Country Inn and Suites.

Police received information that the duo had a large amount of cannabis they were looking to sell. Police tracked Morris and Talbert to the Promenade Court hotel.

After making contact, officers were given permission to search the room where the teens were staying. Inside, police found about 32 grams of pot in 32 individually wrapped bags.

Additionally, officers found a loaded .22 caliber revolver. Talbert told police he kept the gun for protection.

Morris faces charges of possession and intent to deliver between 30 and 500 grams of pot. Judge Stephen Mathers today set his bond at $7,500, which is $12,500 less than the recommendation of Assistant State’s Attorney Sabrina Stroops.

Talbert was released from the Knox County jail with a notice to appear in court on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and FOID card violation.
