Investigators believe a Monday night house fire on South Seminary Street was intentionally set.
In a statement, the Galesburg Fire Department says they are working with Galesburg police to locate possible suspects.
Fire crews responded before 10 p.m. to 986 S. Seminary St. where smoke and flames were visible on the building’s second floor and attic. The fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes. One firefighter was treated for minor injuries.
Galesburg Fire Chief Tom Simkins says the two-story home was unoccupied when crews arrived on scene.
Crews remained on scene for about two hours battling hot spots and knocking down fires in walls. The building was vacant.
