
Police arrested a Galesburg man yesterday on a $250,000 armed robbery warrant.
According to police reports, 25-year-old London T. Golden is a suspect in the June 30 armed robbery of a 16 year old in the 200 block of South Seminary Street.
The teen was planning to buy a car with cash when two men with their hoods pulled up approached, brandishing firearms. The stick-up crew made off with $1,100.
Golden was arrested yesterday afternoon in connection to the robbery. In court today, Golden said via video he was at work at the time of the incident.
He is accused of armed robbery, theft, aggravated robbery and simple robbery. Armed robbery is a Class X felony worth up to 30 years in prison.
Knox County Judge Stephen Mathers today appointed a public defender to Golden’s case. He remains in the Knox County jail on $255,000 bond awaiting a court appearance at 11 a.m. Monday.
