Mr. Donald “Don” R. Larson, 83, of Wataga, Illinois died at 6:20 pm Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Seminary Manor Nursing Home.He was born April 30, 1933 in Altona, Illinois the son of Roy Struthers and Eva Almquist Larson. He married Joyce Ann Sargeant on June 15, 1963 in Ontario, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce of Wataga; his two daughters, Susan (Roger) Allen of Cameron, Illinois and Christine (Kelly) Claeys of Burlington, Iowa and three grandchildren, Ky (Veronica) Claeys, Kelby and Kolin Claeys. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dale and Dean and a cousin Marilyn L. Rylander.
Don served in the US Army.
He was a truck driver for Skel Gas and Pepsi for several years. He had also worked at Admiral Maytag Corporation for 20 years. Don enjoyed fishing and electric train sets.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Wataga Cemetery. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the family.
