Andrew Smith Hamilton, 76, of Appleton, Wisconsin, formerly of Galesburg, died at 9:50 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.He was born January 25, 1940 in Galesburg, the son of David A. and G. Maurine (Smith) Hamilton. He married Lois Ann Crouch on December 27, 1969 in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Lois; a son, David (and Robin) Hamilton of Neenah, Wisconsin; a daughter, Ann Marie Hamilton-Davis of Menasha, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Karissa, Michael, Demetric, Kimberly, and Donavon; and three great grandchildren, Trae, Khloe, and Apollo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Andy worked as a private investigator and in security. He graduated from high school and attended college while living in Florida. Andy served his country for a short period before being honorably discharged. Andy was also a gun collector and salesman working at Simpson Ltd.
Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Oneida Cemetery.
