Hunter Morrison Katzell, 20 of Abingdon, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at UnityPoint Health Trinity in Rock Island with his family at his side.He was born September 28, 1995 in Des Plaines, Illinois, the son of Richard and Lori Barnett Katzell.
Hunter is survived by his mother, Lori Katzell of Abingdon; his father, Richard Katzell of Abingdon; his children, Lilliana Katzell and her mother Katelin Nelson of Abingdon and Quincy Katzell and his mother Taylor Cudd of Abingdon; one sister, Katie Katzell of Abingdon; one half-brother, Micah Chavin in Indiana; and his grandmother, Susan Rogers of Abingdon. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, John Rogers.
Hunter had lived in Abingdon the past 13 years. He attended Abingdon Schools and participated in football, basketball and baseball. He worked for Atwood Construction in Abingdon. He enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Cremation will be accorded after the service.
