
Debra A. Petty, 57, of Galva, died at 7:15 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2016 at her home.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, August 29 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
She was born September 14, 1958 in Kewanee, the daughter of Richard and Darlene (Peterson) Kermeen. She married Ted R. “Randy” Petty on August 11, 1979 in Galva. He survives of Galva, as do two sons, Joshua Petty and his fiancé Melanie O’Connell and Nolan Petty, both of Galva, two daughters, Amanda Pyle and her boyfriend, Kevin Witte and Jodi Petty and her boyfriend, Christopher McKnight, both of Galva, her brother-in-law, Dave Leverette of Galva, eleven grandchildren, Kassidee, Kameron, Zataya, Kaydence, Jayden, Drew, Joslynn, Kaitlynn, Christian, Christianna and Jacylnn and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Sharon and Janet and two brothers, Randy and Russell.
Debra obtained her GED and attended Black Hawk East. She had worked as a teachers aide at Kids First. She enjoyed camping and riding motorcycles and especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends.
