ST. CHARLES, Ill. (AP) — A Joliet man has been convicted of shooting and killing another man during a drug deal that turned into a robbery.
Kane County State’s Attorney Joseph McMahon announced Thursday that a jury found 21-year-old Dimitri Green-Hosey guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery. He says jurors deliberated about six hours before returning the verdict late Wednesday.
Prosecutors say Green-Hosey and his 22-year-old brother met 20-year-old Arin Williams of Aurora in 2014 to buy marijuana.
The brothers decided to rob Williams of the drugs. At some point during the meeting Green-Hosey’s brother, Jaquan Green-Hosey, grabbed the drugs and ran. Dimitri Green-Hosey then shot Williams in the head.
He’s next scheduled to appear in court Nov. 4 for sentencing.
Jaquan Green-Hosey pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in February.
