CHICAGO (AP) — A 21-year-old Chicago man faces felony charges for allegedly pointing his handgun’s laser sight at people in another car.
A statement from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office says Derrick Harrington had a valid gun and concealed-carry license. It says the victims informed police during a safety check early Monday morning that someone in the car behind them had pointed the gun’s laser at them. Authorities then searched what turned out to be Harrington’s car and found a loaded .40-caliber handgun under a seat.
Harrington is charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault with a handgun laser. The sheriff’s office statement says paperwork is also being processed to revoke the man’s gun permits.
The statement did not include the name of a defense attorney.
