District 205’s Board of Education can approve a tentative FY17 budget following a public hearing tonight.
Tentative budgets for Knox Warren Special Education and the Galesburg Area Vocation Center will also be on display.
Last month, Finance Superintendent Jennifer Hamm forecasted a $1.9 million operational budget deficit.District 205 has had a deficit the last few years.
Superintendent Ralph Grimm has told WGIL in past interviews they are moving closer to a balanced budget and knew when he took the job last year that it would take a few years to get it balanced.
Also, an initial report on 2015 PARCC scores will be given.
Board members have discussing a district risk management plan on the agenda as well. One of the good news items is just that.
The district will recognize Mr. and Mrs. Dan Corzette for their gift of a new baseball scoreboard for Jim Sundberg Field.
The gift was made in honor of their late son, Wes, who was a Silver Streaks player.
