Ruth Evelyn Bollman, 83, of Galva, died at 12:45 p.m., Wednesday , September 21, 2016 at her home.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 26 at the Monmouth First United Methodist Church, 221 E. Broadway St., Monmouth, IL. Rev. Tom Logsdon will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 25 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Burial will be in Monmouth Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society.
She was born March 26, 1933 in Swan Twp., Warren County, IL, the daughter of Clifton W. and Mary G. (Waller) Dykeman. She married Charles F. Bollman on September 4, 1960 in Monmouth and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1998. Survivors include two sons, Daryl (Connie) Bollman of Kewanee and Charles Bollman of Galva, two daughters, Mary Abbott of Macomb, IL and Cheryl Pupillo of Galva, her sister, Thelma Larson of Altona, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister in infancy.
Ruth graduated from Galva High School in 1951. She worked as an operator and later in the business office at GTE from 1960 to 1985. She was of the Methodist faith.
