Here is a recap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
“Silver Streaks team rebounded from a disappointing loss at home a week ago to Quincy to spoil Moline’s Homecoming on the road, 29-0 in shutout fashion. Silver Streaks scored once in each quarter, including on each of their first two possessions. A touchdown run each, by Jacob Ross and DeAndre Moren. A 14-0 halftime lead turned into a 22-0 3rd quarter lead, as the Silver Streaks found the endzone again. A 6 yard scoring pass to Fernando Diaz with just 6 seconds left and then Moren tacked on his second touchdown run of the game to make it a 29-0 final.
“Ross was 12 of 13 passing for 113 yards. Diaz, his favorite receiver in the game, 7 catches for 71 yards including the touchdown. Galesburg improves to 4-1 on the season, 1-1 in the Western Big 6 which moves them into a tie with Moline which had won it’s opener a week ago, but the Maroons overall fall to 2-3. Galesburg next travels to United Township next Friday night.”
Our Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game was Larry Pettis due to a sack in the second quarter to end Moline’s last main attempted scoring drive.
