Mrs. Sherri L. Lafferty, 56, of Alexis, Illinois died at 11:10 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.She was born August 14, 1960 in Galesburg, Illinois. She married J.R. Lafferty on August 13, 2016 in Alexis. He survives.
Also surviving are her parents, Wendell and Sandy Hull of Punta Gorda, Florida; her son, Andrew C. Peck (DeShawn Barrett) of Chicago, Illinois; two step sons, Justin Lafferty of Alexis and Aaron Wayne (Dara) Duke of Galesburg; two step daughters, Jenny (Trent) McKeown and Janelle (Eric) Duckwiler both of Alexis; her brother, Richard P. Hull of Chandler, Arizona; her sister, Diana (Gale) Sickles of Abingdon, Illinois; two step brothers, Brian Swanson of Wrightstown, Wisconsin and Eric (Jen) Swanson of Chanhassen, Minnesota and ten step grandchildren.
Sherri worked as a secretary for Galesburg schools for several years. She later was the administrator’s assistant for the Galesburg Community Foundation for several years. She graduated from Abingdon High School. Sherri was a past member of the First Church of God in Galesburg. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She loved being outdoors. She loved her pets, Dewey and Freeload.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Sue Shike will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Friday, September 30, 2016 at the chapel. Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alexis Fire Department or Galesburg Community Foundation.
