A Las Vegas, Nevada man was extradited to the Knox County Jail yesterday after being arrested earlier in the month on a warrant for cannabis trafficking.
Fifty-year-old Bryan O’Neal was arrested on a Class X cannabis trafficking charge. The warrant had a bond attachment of $120,000 and O’Neal has since posted $12,000 bail to be released.
The warrant stemmed from a 2014 Amtrak bust, where a pair of bags that were allegedly O’Neal’s were found with 15.6 pounds of cannabis inside.
According to Knox County Court documents, O’Neal has been awaiting a jury trial after pleading not guilty in February.
Galesburg police say he failed to appear for a preliminary hearing earlier in the year, so a subsequent warrant in Knox County was issued.
O’Neal was arrested by Las Vegas police on Sept. 1. He’s now scheduled to appear in Knox County Circuit Court on November 2 at 9 a.m.
