Here is a recap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:
“At the Soule Bowl in East Moline the Galesburg football team scored on it’s first 6 possessions of the night. United Township did get a long touchdown in there, so the Silver Streaks didn’t go to a continuous clock victory until early in the 3rd quarter but it was a rout, 49-6 over the winless Panthers. Galesburg improves to 5-1 thanks largely to some big offensive numbers. Jacob Ross 15/19 passing for 270 yards and 4 touchdowns. DeAndre Moren rushed for 16 times, 207 yards and 3 touchdowns. Caleb Clay had a huge night as a receiver, 8 receptions, 161 yards and a long 62 yard touchdown catch. Fernando Diaz, Jason Kelly, and Patrick Bond also had touchdown catches on the night.
“So Galesburg goes to 2-1 in the Western Big 6, 5-1 overall. They’re playoff eligible and just looking to strengthen their post-season hopes now, with the remaining 3 games starting with the Alleman Pioneers at home next Friday night for the Silver Streaks Homecoming. Galesburg sophomores lost 14-0, but the Varsity had some fun 49-6 over United Township.”
Our Dave’s Auto Body Crunch Time Player of The Game was Jacob Ross for his outstanding performance as QB tonight.
