Mary L. Munts, 83, of Williamsfield, died at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in the Knox County Nursing Home.She was born March 8, 1933 in West Jersey, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Lucille (Mosher) Smith. She married Paul Chandlee. He preceded her in death December 6, 1973.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond Chandlee of Galesburg, Mark Chandlee of Williamsfield, and Mick (Cindy) Chandlee of Williamsfield; eight grandchildren, Paula (Michael) Park, Lucy Hecht, Mark (fiancé, Emily) Chandlee Jr., Dale Chandlee, Drake Chandlee, Penny (Derek) Smith, William Jones, and Dewayne (Kathleen) Jones; five great grandchildren, Jade King, Anthony Hecht, Justina Mims, Morgan Jones, and Shelby Jones; one great-great granddaughter, Melody; one brother, Raymond “Jr.” Smith of Williamsfield; and one sister, Darlene (Jim) Spencer of Peoria. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Earl Smith.
Mary worked at Admiral in Galesburg for 20 years before retiring. She graduated from Williamsfield High School. She was of the Methodist faith. Mary enjoyed watching deer, word search puzzles, and crafting with bittersweet.
Cremation will be accorded. No visitation or service is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
